Rita Canales

My husband and I have lived in Oregon for the last 10 years. I was born in Central California where I lived for most of my life other than a 2-year time in Washington near Seattle. We moved to Oregon to be nearer to both my children and my grandchildren.

I have gardened most of my life and am at peace when working in my garden. Back in 2009 I joined the Master Gardeners and a Garden Club. The former has taught me how to be a better gardener and the latter how to step out of my comfort zone.

Oregon has become our home, and we have always been impressed on how friendly everyone is here, especially the Garden Cub. There are always welcoming smiling faces greeting you at all the meetings and activities. With all the wonderful things the club does for the community, the membership, fun activities it makes a great group to join.
