March is already here, thankfully. I hope spring is just around the corner.
The March meeting is the last meeting before the April 16th Pioneer District Luncheon. I am hoping that many of you will sign up to attend the luncheon. Usually, the luncheons are held up north of us and can be difficult to attend. It is here in McMinnville, can’t get any closer. We need lots of willing hands to help make this a successful day. Join us for a fun filled day of good food, an interesting topic, and fellowship.
The Luncheon will be catered by Coleman’s and Company Catering with a warm sandwich, 3 salads, and for dessert; brownies and cookies. The cost is $25. The speaker will be Mark Akimoff on Wildflower Adventures around Oregon and SW Washington. He will bring native plants for sale. Along with good food and speaker you will have the pleasure of spending more time with our fellow members and other “gardening” enthusiasts from outside our area.
We will need some members to help with the preparation. The day before, April 15th, Dorothea will be instructing us on how to place flowers in teapots for the table decorations. Lisa has been collecting some fantastic teapots from MacHub. These teapots will be the door prizes given out at the end of the luncheon. Also on April 15th, Colleen and June will need people to bring refreshments to Colleen’s home and prepare them on trays.
On the day of the luncheon, we will need people to set up all the tables with tablecloths, placemats, floral arrangements, flatware, dishes, etc. Water pitchers will need to be filled with water and placed on the tables. Food trays and tea and coffee will need to be set out. There are lots of fun little things to do. Come and be a part of the camaraderie with your fellow members. It is a great way to get to know each other.
