This charming front yard is an eclectic mix of flowers, vegetables, berry bushes, and a touch of charm.
When owner Hanna Demaster and her husband bought this home in 2016, overhauling the front yard became one of Hanna’s priorities. She accomplished this with much help from family members who assisted her with removing the front lawn and two trees, no small task. The yard Hanna envisioned is now in full fruition and has become garden therapy, which she described as “something that gets me off my couch and out of my head”. Hanna indicated that she is currently interested in learning more about companion planting, as she pointed to the marigolds, alyssum and nasturtiums all tucked in amongst the vegetables. It must be working because this garden is obviously thriving.
About The Yard of the Month
Yard of the Month is not a one-person committee. If you are reading this: Tag, you’re on this committee too! We want to honor and encourage our neighbors who are beautifying our community with their efforts.
All club members are requested to notice interesting front yards and to nominate them for Yard of the Month. Look for yards that are unique in some way and primarily owner-designed and maintained. If you see a garden that fits this description, please send the info. to Christine Pritts.
