Owner, Michelle Nelson said that she and her husband moved into this home 6 years ago, when the  landscaping was “very builder’s grade”, with few plants. Michelle shared that she grew up on a rice farm, where flowers were not the focus. Although she knew little about growing flowers, she always loved people’s flower gardens, so she followed a friend’s advice, “Just go out and buy whatever plants you like and plant them.” That’s what she did: with poor design results. Yet, that started what she laughingly calls her “plant addiction”. Since then, Michelle has learned much about plants and their individual needs. By necessity, she also learned how to install her entire drip watering system, which she is constantly adjusting for each plant area’s needs.

This photo shows a lovely trickling fountain at the base of the entry stairs, a recent Mother’s Day present. Take a walk around the corner, and you’ll see 30 dahlias, each in a Grow Bag with its own drip hose. Michelle loves dahlias and swaps them with other dahlia growing friends.
